A ruthless party card game where roles matter, alliances crumble, and the King decides your fate. Not a democracy. Not fair. Definitely not sober.
It's a monarchy with alcohol.
King's Folly is a party card game where one player becomes the King and everyone else exists to entertain, protect, betray, or absolutely destroy him. There are roles. There are rules. There are shots. And none of them are fair.
All hail the chaos

Randomly assign roles to your players
Start Assigning11 players. 11 distinct roles. Some command power. Others exist for comic relief. Your position is decided by the King, and it can change every round based on your performance (or lack thereof).
The ruler of the game
The King assigns roles, approves challenges and rules, resolves disputes, and decides who thrives or suffers at the end of each round. Strong performers earn better roles; weak ones become servants. Absolute power, questionable judgment.
The King's advisor and backup ruler
Each round, the Best Man invents a funny rule to keep things lively. Once per round, if he willingly takes a shot, he gains shot immunity for that moment.
The King's shield
Stays close to the King at all times and may take shots meant for him or attempt to deflect them to others via a coin toss. Fail the toss, and multiple people pay the price.
Agent of chaos
Armed with a Nerf gun and 5 shots per round. Anyone hit must drink. Missed shots may cause recoil depending on a coin toss. No player may be targeted twice per round, and stolen weapons remain deadly.
Master of suspicious potions
Creates custom drinks for players. If the King approves the results, the Witch Doctor may keep their role next round. Half of the shots aimed at them can be redirected into other drinks.
Controller of the vibe
The Bard controls the music and once per round may nominate a player for Karaoke, plus up to two backup singers. Refusal or quitting early results in punishment. The Joker must dance the entire performance.
Public humiliation specialist
Delivers dramatic or ridiculous speeches to earn claps from the King: 3+ claps: Shot immunity + group toast. 2 claps: Break the Best Man's rule. 1 clap: Sip and encouragement. 0 claps: Immediate punishment and another speech.
Host of mini-games
Runs one challenge per round, settles coin-toss disputes, and assigns rewards or punishments with the King's approval. Each challenge includes a coin toss to see if the Challenge Master must participate.
Protection⦠for the protector
Stays glued to the Bodyguard. If the Bodyguard drinks, you drink instead. Can only block two shots per round β choose wisely.
Keeper of the cups
Ensures no drink is ever empty. If the King spots an empty cup, the Tavern Keeper must drink. Anyone can order refills, and complaints may result in demotion. Each serving comes with an extra embarrassing task.
The King's personal entertainment
You get a new name, must ask permission to speak, and exist solely to amuse the King. At the end of the round, the King may 'hang' you, triggering a punishment. If hanged β you become the Kingslayer. If spared β you become the Best Man.
The King's curse
Whenever the Kingslayer drinks, the King drinks half. If the Kingslayer willingly drinks, the King must drink too β no blocking or deflection allowed. A dangerous role for everyone involved.
The game is played in rounds. Each round features challenges, performances, rules, and player schemes. At the end of every round, the King evaluates everyone's performance and reshuffles power.
The game involves 11 players: one Bachelor, known as the King, and 10 others with distinct roles. At the start, the King assigns these roles, setting the stage for the game.
When the game begins, the King announces a new round, encouraging players to actively engage and interact based on their roles. Players should initiate discussions and can form alliances to achieve their objectives.
Throughout the round, mini-games are organized by the Challenge Master. Players can also undertake role-specific tasks that may influence their standing. They can choose either to protect the King or plot to get him completely wasted.
At the end of each round, the King evaluates player performance and selects the standout player to receive a preferred role. High performers get better cards, while lower performers receive worse cards and may become "servers." If someone loses their card, they can choose to accept the title of "Founder," taking on dual responsibilities. If they decline, the King imposes a light-hearted punishment to reincorporate them into their role, ensuring everyone is of use to society.
